Legends: Shoulder To Shoulder Album
PQFMusic is proud to have Pete Maher on our team, he is undoubtedly the finest, best mastering person we could wish for – David Quaife, PQF (Legends)

Mastering notes from Pete Maher:
The ‘Legends: Shoulder To Shoulder’ album was a total pleasure to master. It contains 76 tracks spread over six CD’s. Artists include Paul Weller, Geno Washington, Ocean Colour Scene, Noel Gallagher, Peter Noone, Robyn Hitchcock, Wishbone Ash, Michael Des Barres, Billy Craig, The Nashville Teens, The Searchers, Mick Bolton (Mott The Hoople) and Roger McGuinn (The Byrds). Album artwork was supplied by Kosh who’s portfolio includes The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Eagles, John Lennon, Marvin Gaye, The Who, Carole King, Tom Petty, Randy Newman, Rod Stewart and The Electric Light Orchestra.
Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller and Kosh Art combine for brilliant charity album in memory of Kinks Bassist Pete Quaife
Apart from all the big names, the artists that stand out for me are Electric Stars, Elliot Schneider, The Q, Sage Rhoads, The Vow, The Jigsaw Seen, Thee Ones, The Mynd Set, Jacques and the Giants, Forthaven, Slim Vision and John Staples. Roger McGuinn from The Byrds delivers one of the best lines on the album with the classic ‘The longer you live the sooner you die’. Speaking of Roger here’s one of his cool videos (this should appeal to all aspiring guitar players and songwriters) ..
Louder Than War can exclusively reveal details about an amazing upcoming album release later this year. The Pete Quaife Foundation, one of Louder Than War’s favourite charities, have been busy putting together an amazing line up for the album, Legends: Shoulder To Shoulder, which will be officially announced at a special concert in Covent Garden this coming Saturday May 3 st .
Speaking to Louder Than War, Dave Quaife, brother of the legendary Kinks bassist, explained how he had been absolutely bowled over by interest from artists keen to contribute, and an amazing offer to do the album cover. “I could not believe it when John Kosh agreed to do the cover art for us as he is an absolute legend.” Having designed the legendary Abbey Road cover, Kosh went on to create many more historic pieces of album art for the likes of The Who, The Rolling Stones, T Rex, John Lennon, Marvin Gaye and Phil Spector among others.
