Manchester based Multiplier unveil the follow up to May’s well received debut EP on Monday 26th October 2015. A ‘Double A’ side single, Wait by The Gate/ Chasing Shadows will once again be available on a ‘pay what you want’ basis via Bandcamp and a very limited edition CD.  Intelligent pop music in the very broad area also covered by early Radiohead, Elbow, and Doves

Chasing Shadows is the very first song Andy and Phil wrote together back in 2011 and has been a live favourite ever since. Wait by the Gate is the first song written in the rehearsal room by the whole band.

Multiplier made their debut at the tail end of 2012, opening for the highly acclaimed ILiKETRAiNS at The Deaf Institute, Manchester. Further shows sharing the stage with bands as diverse as Six by Seven, The Woodentops, Ultrasound and Blossoms as well as a series of smaller venue gigs have seen the band develop and enhance their powerful and dynamic live sound.

Radio plays of their debut EP by BBC Radio 6, Salford City Radio and Radio KC amongst others together with a live interview and session with BBC Introducing Manchester have seen the band significantly increase their profile and presence since May of this year.

Multiplier are:

Andy Gardner- Vocals
Phil Hartley- Guitars
Danny Callaghan- Bass
Rod McFarlane- Drums

At the time of writing (2 weeks prior to the ‘official’ release date, we are aware that the new tracks have been played by BBC Radio Manchester, BBC R6, Salford City Radio, Radio Kaos Caribou (France), CISM (Canada) and WMSC Radio (NJ, USA). We also have a review from the well respected Bagging Area Blog

Obviously we’re hoping for more in the coming weeks.

The Double A side single is our follow up to our debut EP released back in May 2015. The purpose of that release as well as this one was twofold; give our fans something tangible and to increase our profile through airplay and reviews. We’re not expecting to make money or to be picked up by a label (though both would be very welcome!). We know we’re a tiny fish in the biggest ocean, but we always want to be the best that we can be and deliver a ‘professional’ product.

Everything -other than the mastering- was completed in house. Self produced, our drummer Rod, took the lead in terms of engineering, recording and mixing and both tracks were recorded over two days in a Cheshire cottage.

We were never happy with the final master of our debut EP and we were determined to get this one right. We had a couple of aborted attempts with other engineers and were getting quite despondent until we found Pete Maher. Suffice to say he exceeded all our expectations and he will be our Mastering ‘Alchemist’ of choice from now on!

We’re delighted with the final product and we know our fans will love it too.

Pete Maher Testimonial :
In short, Pete is a genius who has restored our faith in the mastering process. He has taken our mixes and delivered louder, warmer and more sparkling masters, whilst retaining the integrity of the dynamics, which are so important to us. Beyond that his customer service, pricing  and sheer personality have been absolutely top notch. He is most certainly now ‘our’ mastering engineer!

I simply can not recommend him highly enough
