James Seaward – Pete Maher Mastering Project.

How Did You Hear about Pete:

I worked with a mutual friend, Gareth Matthews, who co-produced and mixed my debut album. Gareth introduced me to Pete and his vast catalogue of work, which speaks for itself. It was a dream come true to have Pete work on my debut album.

In November 2014, I entered Absolute Music Recording Studios to record my self-titled debut album. I had been writing for a while and had so many great songs that it was difficult to whittle it down to just eight tracks. The whole recording, mixing and mastering process from start to finish took just over ten weeks.
The day Pete sent me the final master WAV’s, I was booked to play live and be interviewed for the album’s release on Chelmsford Radio in Kent. As my band and I were driving up the motorway, I received the final masters in my inbox which was great, so I sent them straight over to the radio show as they were playing my album exclusively that night. Pete did such a fantastic job. We were all totally blown away by how it sounded. It literally lept from the speakers. By the time that we arrived at the station we were ready to roll. Within three days my album was available to download from iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and 31 other digital platforms.

I’ve had a lot of support since the release of the album, coming from various other radio stations such as Forest FM in Hampshire, Strabane Radio in Ireland and a great deal of support has come from my friends across the atlantic at Indie Scene Radio, Boston, USA, where the album is on daily rotation.
A great deal of interest has developed on social media which has led to copies of my album being sold in the US, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Sweden, Denmark, France, England, Scotland and Ireland. I’ve had an enormous amount of support from the fans around the world, for which I’m very grateful.
There are several independent record shops now selling my debut album as a result.

Biography from James Seaward:

What got me into music? Well, I got my first guitar, after hearing Bon Jovi’s Living on a Prayer. That changed everything. I was ten years old. I heard that song and it inspired a life long passion for music. My Mum, Aunt and Uncle bought me my first guitar, a Fiesta Red Marlin Strat copy. Every spare minute I had I would pick up riffs and parts of my favourite songs. Like pieces of a puzzle I would slot everything together. I had a couple of lessons around the same time, but really discovered what music was about by teaching myself, listening to tapes, records and CDs…

I’d often sit on the stairs at home listening to the Radio One Rock Show on a Friday night, dreaming of being in a band and trying to work out how to play all the songs that I was listening too. They were very happy days.

At my junior school I would form little bands with my school friends, dreaming of one day being a part of the professional music world like the bands I looked up to. I went to Kingsleigh Secondary School in Bournemouth which was a very musical school, here I would spend all of my lunch times rehearsing with different people in different bands. Through my teenage years I formed various bands, playing the local Bournemouth and Christchurch scene. Ever since I picked up the guitar I have been writing my own songs, drawing on my own experiences and putting pen to paper.

From playing in bands to now performing as a solo artist, November 2014 saw me recording my debut solo album at Absolute Music Studios in Dorset. It was an incredible ten weeks of recording, mixing and mastering. My debut album can now be found on all the digital download stores. The photo which became the album cover, was voted for by fans on social media, it was taken at Hengistbury Head in Bournemouth, just a mile up the road from where I grew up.
I am now currently recruiting band members to go out and play nationwide.
