Description of the release, from the Drama Dolls
The Drama Dolls are the brainchild of ex Colony bassist, guitarist & main songwriter Mike Cambridge, who along with drummer Alan Bristow & Agatha on keyboards form the nucleus of the band, with vocals by acclaimed US rock singer Chris Hodges.
The UK based rock band reference classic indie of early U2 ,Muse and the Killers, but deliver it with an original melodic ‘pop tinged’ blend of layered distorted guitars, driving bass and pounding drums, all punctuated by soaring vocals and dark foreboding lyrical themes of religion, despair, loss, hope and suicide.
All 3 tracks were produced and mixed by Mike Cambridge at the band’s Orange Mary Studio with mastering by the mighty Pete Maher of U2, Garbage, The Killers and Jack White fame.
Recent reviews have described the EP as ‘a trio of angst-ridden, uplifting suicide songs with indie inspired richly arranged compositions. ‘The EP has an audible ton of hooks and energy and by the end of the three songs I’m left wanting more’ – Well we couldn’t say it better ourselves!!
Released on the 29th May 2015 as a strictly limited collectors’ 3 track CD single with bonus DVD of all three promo videos, plus an extra video of Don’t Waste Your Prayers with guest female lead vocals by Addie Nicole of US Rock band Halocene. The first 100 copies are individually hand numbered with additional art prints, inserts, badges & outer collectors’ sleeve. 20 of these are individually hand painted by the band.
